According to the case materials, two individuals conducted P2P transactions for cash through a counterparty. It was later discovered that some of the funds came from elderly women who had fallen victim to phone scammers.<\/p>\n<p>Lawyers stated that the exchange organizers were unknowingly involved in a <span data-descr=\"the victim sends money for a deal opened by the scammer with the P2P trader\" class=\"old_tooltip\">\u201ctriangle\u201d scheme<\/span>. Nevertheless, law enforcement charged them with aiding fraud and conspiring with the perpetrators.<\/p>\n<p>The defense provided comprehensive information on each cryptocurrency sale transaction: correspondence with counterparties, transaction hashes on the Tron network, the movement of exchange funds to centralized exchanges, and the movement of bitcoins purchased by phone scammers using defrauded victims&#8217; funds.<\/p>\n<p>However, the investigation and court ignored this information, claim Cartesius lawyers.<\/p>\n<p>According to the court&#8217;s conclusion, correspondence with counterparties is \u201cevidence that the accused were personally acquainted with unidentified individuals and had a joint criminal intent.\u201d Witness testimony regarding the legality of the exchange operations was deemed to \u201ccontradict the defendants&#8217; defense position.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"970\" src=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/305557a61c3a6a42fb3ea-1024x970.jpg\" alt=\"305557a61c3a6a42fb3ea\" class=\"wp-image-224436\" srcset=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/305557a61c3a6a42fb3ea-1024x970.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/forklog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/305557a61c3a6a42fb3ea-300x284.jpg 300w, https:\/\/forklog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/305557a61c3a6a42fb3ea-768x727.jpg 768w, https:\/\/forklog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/305557a61c3a6a42fb3ea-1536x1454.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/forklog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/305557a61c3a6a42fb3ea-2048x1939.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Source: Cartesius.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>As a result, the court sentenced the individuals to six years and eight months in prison.
