She noted that Vanguard also has no plans to launch its own cryptocurrency-based products, given the current state of the industry.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cWhile cryptocurrencies are classified as a commodity, it is an immature asset class that lacks a deep history, intrinsic economic value, cash flow, and can create chaos in a portfolio,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Jackson emphasized that Vanguard has a rigorous decision-making process for introducing new products, with primary focus on their long-term investment benefits and client needs.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the growing discussions around bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, Vanguard does not consider them suitable for inclusion in portfolios, she added.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in January, the <span data-descr=\"U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission\" class=\"old_tooltip\">SEC<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/sec-approves-all-11-spot-bitcoin-etf-applications\">approved<\/a> applications for the launch of spot bitcoin ETFs from 11 issuers, including BlackRock and Fidelity.<\/p>\n<p>Following the commencement of trading these products, the price of the leading cryptocurrency <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/bitcoin-price-surpasses-48000-amid-etf-launch\">surpassed $48,000<\/a>.
