{"id":11782,"date":"2024-03-20T10:42:57","date_gmt":"2024-03-20T08:42:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/uzbekistan-raises-fees-for-bitcoin-exchanges-and-exchangers\/"},"modified":"2024-03-20T10:42:57","modified_gmt":"2024-03-20T08:42:57","slug":"uzbekistan-raises-fees-for-bitcoin-exchanges-and-exchangers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/uzbekistan-raises-fees-for-bitcoin-exchanges-and-exchangers\/","title":{"rendered":"Uzbekistan Raises Fees for Bitcoin Exchanges and Exchangers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <span data-descr=\"National Agency for Perspective Projects\" class=\"old_tooltip\">NAPP<\/span> of Uzbekistan has <a href=\"https:\/\/napp.uz\/ru\/news\/kripto-aktivlar-aylanmasi-sohasidagi-yig-imlar-nizomga-o-zgartirishlar-kiritildi\">adjusted<\/a> the monthly fixed fees for cryptocurrency exchanges and exchangers operating in the country.<\/p>\n<p>The decision followed an analysis indicating sufficient profitability among service providers in the crypto asset sector.<\/p>\n<p>For exchanges, the mandatory fees have increased from 400 <span data-descr=\"basic calculation unit\" class=\"old_tooltip\">BCU<\/span> to 740 BCU (251.6 million soums or ~$20,015), and for exchangers [referred to as crypto shops in the law] \u2014 from 20 BCU to 185 BCU (62.9 million soums or ~$5,000).<\/p>\n<p>NAPP anticipates that these changes will double budget revenues without significantly impacting the financial condition of service providers.<\/p>\n<p>The changes will take effect three months after their official publication.<\/p>\n<p>At the time of writing, two exchanges, two crypto depositories, and ten crypto exchangers are <a href=\"https:\/\/napp.uz\/ru\/pages\/erlsp\">licensed<\/a> in Uzbekistan.<\/p>\n<p>In May, Uzbekistan will implement a <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/uzbekistan-revises-licensing-procedures-for-bitcoin-exchanges\">revised licensing procedure<\/a> for bitcoin exchanges.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Uzbek authorities approved <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/uzbekistan-enacts-penalties-for-illegal-cryptocurrency-activities\">criminal and administrative penalties<\/a> for illegal activities related to cryptocurrency mining and usage, effective April 19.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The NAPP of Uzbekistan has adjusted the monthly fixed fees for cryptocurrency exchanges and exchangers operating in the country.
