Intel has introduced<\/a> its next-generation AI chip, the Gaudi 3.<\/p>\n

The new model is more than twice as energy-efficient as its predecessor and is available in various configurations. For instance, it can be supplied as a set of eight Gaudi 3 chips on a single motherboard or as a card that can be installed in existing systems.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cWe are working on creating a product in the form of building blocks that will allow you to assemble the necessary solution, rather than buying a ready-made option,\u201d senior vice president of Intel’s Network Group, Sachin Katti, told CNBC<\/a>.<\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The corporation tested the chips on open-source AI models. According to company representatives, Gaudi 3 could assist in training or deploying chatbots.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cWe use the industry-standard Ethernet and expect Gaudi 3 to be competitive with the latest Nvidia processors,\u201d stated Intel’s Xeon Software Vice President Das Kamhout.\u00a0<\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Gaudi 3 measures 5 nm. Journalists have speculated that the company uses third-party foundry services.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Intel also plans to manufacture AI chips for third-party companies at a new factory in Ohio, scheduled to open in 2027-2028.<\/p>\n

Gaudi 3 will be available in the third quarter of 2024, and companies will begin building their system architectures based on these chips. Intel has not yet specified the price range.<\/p>\n
