The brothers have become co-owners of Real Bedford FC.<\/p>\n<p>According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gemini.com\/blog\/cameron-and-tyler-winklevoss-invest-usd4-5m-of-bitcoin-into-real-bedford\">press release<\/a>, this investment is the largest ever made in a UK football club outside the professional leagues.<\/p>\n<p>Tyler Winklevoss noted that &#8220;from a philosophical standpoint, football and the first cryptocurrency have much in common.&#8221; In his view, both are global, borderless, and open to everyone.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Today, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tyler?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@tyler<\/a> and I are excited to announce that <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/winklevosscap?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@winklevosscap<\/a> has made a $4.5M bitcoin investment in <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/realbedford?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@realbedford<\/a>, becoming co-owners alongside <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PeterMcCormack?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@PeterMcCormack<\/a>, and creating the first-ever football club powered by bitcoin.
