The heat generated from mining the leading cryptocurrency will be transferred through a network of insulated pipes to several residential buildings. <\/p>\n<p>The initiative aims to provide households with the benefits of industrial mining.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe system provides heat to several buildings from a single cluster. Heat is generated at the production site in the form of hot water, which is delivered through underground pipes to connected buildings,\u201d explained Hashlabs Mining co-founder Jaran Mellerud. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The water heated by WhatsMiner to approximately 70\u00b0C is intended to replace heat sourced from peat, coal, and other fossil fuels.<\/p>\n<p>According to Mellerud, the company&#8217;s local partner has already integrated two bitcoin installations with Finnish heating networks and is currently implementing a third.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe best source of reliable high-temperature water for district heating is bitcoin mining,\u201d added the head of Hashlabs Mining. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stat.fi\/til\/salatuo\/2019\/salatuo_2019_2020-11-03_tie_001_en.html\">Statistics Finland<\/a>, as of 2019, most buildings in the country were heated using heat from wood fuel (35%), coal (18%), and peat (15%). <\/p>\n<p>Previously, Unblock Global raised over $15 million for cryptocurrency mining using flare gas from Vaca Muerta in Argentina, the world&#8217;s second-largest shale field.<\/p>\n<p>Back in August 2023, the American firm Nodal Power raised $13 million for mining \u201con waste.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hashlabs Mining is implementing a project in Finland that generates heat using bitcoin mining devices to warm homes.
