The company has communicated this update to developers.<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/telegram.org\/js\/telegram-widget.js?22\" data-telegram-post=\"tgmarketing\/1466\" data-width=\"100%\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>This initiative follows a notification from Apple regarding a breach of <a href=\"https:\/\/developer.apple.com\/app-store\/review\/guidelines\/\">App Store policies,<\/a> which prohibit internal payments from customers, including cryptocurrencies. Non-compliance could result in the removal of bots and mini-apps.<\/p>\n<p>Users will be able to purchase the new currency via the App Store or Google Play and use it for digital transactions. Payments for physical goods and services remain unchanged.<\/p>\n<p>Developers will have the option to withdraw Telegram Stars at any time using the TON blockchain.<\/p>\n<p>Bot owners have reacted negatively to the news. They <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/karim_iskakov\/469\">highlighted<\/a> Apple&#8217;s 30% commission on each payment.<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/telegram.org\/js\/telegram-widget.js?22\" data-telegram-post=\"marzaganoff\/4966\" data-width=\"100%\"><\/script><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cIt turns out that Telegram earns dollars from users who buy Telegram Stars, and then gives developers and all the bot owners tokens in the form of the unstable TON,\u201d wrote the author of the channel \u201cMarzaganoff Speaks.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cDurov\u2019s Code\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/d_code\/19220\">suggested<\/a> that the previous method of purchasing digital goods and services might remain available in app versions not downloaded from the App Store and Google Play.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, Telegram founder Pavel Durov <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/cybersecurity-highlights-antivirus-exploits-telegram-restrictions-and-more\">reported<\/a> Apple&#8217;s demand to restrict content access for Ukrainian users on iOS.<\/p>\n<p>Back in April, Durov <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/telegram-to-reward-content-creators-with-toncoin\">announced<\/a> at the Token2049 conference the ability to purchase digital goods with cryptocurrency in Telegram, promising sellers 70% of the revenue.
