By using the legal system to claim a public good, the firm contradicts the ideals of cryptocurrency [\u2026]&#8221;, the post stated.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>StarkWare representatives urged the community to oppose the privatization of the technology.<\/p>\n<p>The company attached a <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/ZKPStatement\/statement\/blob\/main\/zkStatement.pdf\">public statement<\/a> signed by two of the three creators of ZK technology, Shafi Goldwasser and Silvio Micali, StarkWare CEO Eli Ben-Sasson, and Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;If [Matter Labs] goes through with this, it will separate itself from the very community it considers itself a part of,&#8221; the letter stated.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Initially, company representatives claimed they filed for ZK-related trademarks to ensure &#8220;free use of ZK in the context of ZK Sync, ZK Stack, and other names.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">ZK technology belongs to the community. Full stop.<\/p>\n<p>We applied for ZK-related trademarks to ensure that the term \u201cZK\u201d can be used freely in the context of \u201cZK Sync\u201d, \u201cZK Stack\u201d and other related names.
