The product will be named the Hashdex Nasdaq Crypto Index US ETF.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>According to the application, the instrument will also hold cash. If approved, Coinbase Custody Trust and BitGo Trust will serve as custodians.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe fund will not invest in crypto securities, tokenized assets, or stablecoins,\u201d the documents state.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The application caught the attention of Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart. He remarked that there is \u201cnothing surprising\u201d about a \u201cmarket cap-weighted ETF\u201d as it \u201cmakes a lot of sense.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Update: A dual Ethereum and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Bitcoin?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Bitcoin<\/a> ETF filing from <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashdex?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@hashdex<\/a> just dropped. He also noted that the wording in the fund&#8217;s launch documents allows for the addition of other digital assets after actual approval.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Hashdex took this step following the <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/sec-approves-spot-ethereum-etfs-key-developments\">approval of spot Ethereum ETF applications<\/a> in the US by other management firms. However, the company decided not to register the fund based on the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Seyffart highlighted that Hashdex already has a crypto index ETF traded in Brazil. The product consists of 90% Bitcoin and Ethereum.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-conversation=\"none\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashdex?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@hashdex<\/a> already has a crypto index ETF that&#8217;s traded down in Brazil.
