As of the end of June, the number of cryptocurrency ATMs worldwide reached 38,278 units. This figure is approaching the December 2022 peak of 39,541 devices, according to data from Coin ATM Radar<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Since the beginning of the year, 2,564 new Bitcoin ATMs have been installed, marking a 17.8% increase in the total number. Throughout 2023, the sector lost 2,861 units<\/a>, shrinking by approximately 11.5%.<\/p>\n

In terms of countries, the United States maintains an undisputed lead, accounting for 82% (31,968) of the total number of crypto ATMs. Canada holds the second spot with a 7.7% share (3,028). In April, Australia rose to third place<\/a>, with a share of 2.8% (1,107).<\/p>\n

Among operators, Bitcoin Depot holds the largest market share with 7,543 crypto ATMs, or 19.7% of the total.<\/p>\n

In January, the company’s CEO, Brandon Mintz, predicted an acceleration<\/a> in the installation of crypto ATMs following the halving<\/a>. However, after a record start to the year in April (with an increase of 716 devices), there was a decline in May (down 115) and a modest figure of 377 ATMs deployed in June.<\/p>\n
