Source: SCMP.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The experiment was conducted as part of the development of <span data-descr=\"Brain-computer interfaces \u2014 technologies that enable direct communication between the brain and an external device, such as a computer or prosthesis.\" class=\"old_tooltip\">brain-computer interface<\/span> (BCI) technology.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>According to Tianjin University, researchers have created &#8220;the world&#8217;s first open-source intelligent brain-on-chip comprehensive information interaction system, which could lead to brain-driven computing advancements.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\n<cite>&#8220;Transplantation of human brain organoids into a living brain is a novel method to enhance their development and functioning. Organoid transplants possess a functional vascular system derived from the host and exhibit advanced maturation,&#8221; the team noted.\u00a0<\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Researchers stated that their developments could lead to the creation of hybrid human-robot intelligence, new methods for treating neurodevelopmental disorders, and restoration of cortical brain damage.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\n<cite>&#8220;Brain organoid transplantation is considered a promising strategy for brain function restoration by replacing lost neurons and reconstructing neural circuits,&#8221; experts wrote.\u00a0<\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Earlier, BCI technology gained widespread attention due to Elon Musk&#8217;s Neuralink project.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In January, the startup <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/neuralink-successfully-implants-first-brain-chip-in-human\">successfully implanted<\/a> a brain chip in its first volunteer.
