Women working in the cryptocurrency industry earn more than their male counterparts, according to a study<\/a> by Pantera Capital. The survey was conducted in June and July among 502 cisgender residents of the United States.<\/p>\n

Based on median base salaries, for every dollar earned by men, women receive $1.15. In non-cryptocurrency companies, this figure for women is 84 cents.<\/p>\n

According to the survey, the Web3 industry is one of the highest-paying sectors, following medical and executive roles. The average weekly base salary for women exceeds $3000.<\/p>\n

This is attributed to the significant professional experience of female respondents compared to the men surveyed\u2014most hold mid to senior-level positions after five years of work.<\/p>\n

Pantera Capital believes that women who have achieved success in the cryptocurrency field possess a range of soft skills, including resilience and high competence, which positively impact their salaries.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cThe reverse pay gap in the crypto industry may indicate that it offers better opportunities for women than traditional sectors,\u201d researchers commented.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Referring to the limited sample size, the survey authors caution against concluding that male Web3 specialists earn less solely due to gender bias. The number of women in the industry remains relatively low.<\/p>\n

Pantera Capital also highlighted the ongoing issue of sexual harassment<\/a> and objectification<\/a>, which are not absent in the cryptocurrency sector.<\/p>\n

\u201cRelatively fair wages in the crypto industry suggest a potential step towards greater gender equality,\u201d the company expressed hope.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
