The team behind Kaia, an L1 blockchain based on South Korea’s Kakao and Japan’s LINE messengers, is set to launch its mainnet. Among its features is the ability to create applications “in the style of Telegram,” reports The Block<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The event is scheduled for August 30 at 6:00 (Kyiv\/Moscow).<\/p>\n

Kaia was introduced in April following the merger of networks related to Kakao’s Klaytn and LINE’s Finschia.<\/p>\n

Kakao is a messenger used by 96% of South Korea’s population.<\/p>\n

LINE is the dominant messaging platform in Japan, Taiwan, and Thailand.<\/p>\n

The combined user base of the two applications exceeds 250 million people, according to a press release.<\/p>\n

“On August 29 [EST], the Kaia network will launch \u2014 the world’s fastest EVM blockchain with one-second finality, ultra-low fees, and support from leading Asian partners, including Kakao and LINE NEXT,”<\/em> the statement reads.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The network is expected to address issues related to user experience and the spread of Web3 through deep integration with Kakao and LINE messaging apps.<\/p>\n

The team aims to create an ecosystem supporting DeFi, gaming, RWA, and dapps<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Kaia will enable developers to launch Telegram-style applications in LINE using its NEXT WEB software development kit.<\/p>\n

“Low transaction latency, account abstraction, and fee delegation will provide an end-to-end seamless UX<\/span>, extending reach to hundreds of millions of LINE users in Asia,”<\/em> the press release states.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

With the mainnet launch, the Kaia Wave developer support program will commence. Teams using the NEXT WEB SDK will receive marketing, technical, and business support amounting to $1.2 million per project. Events for TGE<\/span> and liquidity provision are also planned.<\/p>\n

On August 28, HashKey Global announced the listing of Kaia.<\/p>\n
