The relevant document has been <a href=\"https:\/\/restructuring.ra.kroll.com\/FTX\/Home-DocketInfo\">published<\/a> on the restructuring agent Kroll&#8217;s website.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-qw.googleusercontent.com\/docsz\/AD_4nXeY0pv-N3Qj1pJSaH9DthhkVrwVjrDK4z2cYbWTyxQMnUc1KSJ0J6FTLqH5trv3QO35QDmp73t_EjoV7g_BmLuIcEFUnW_G8P78CU_0Z4uTvu6o2eMFuV70VIxrgT1anVm6WoU03hxBso-jWHEJJj6ofU5i?key=UCvzQvwqXaikMNkZgSH56Q\" alt=\"SEC's Intent to Challenge FTX Creditor Payments Sparks Outrage\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Source: Kroll.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The latest proposed liquidation plan for FTX includes settling creditor claims based on the value of assets in U.S. dollars at the time of the platform&#8217;s bankruptcy, either in cash or stablecoins. <\/p>\n<p>According to the regulator, such payments are not technically illegal, but it &#8220;reserves the right&#8221; to contest these transactions. <\/p>\n<p>The SEC also noted that the current repayment plan lacks an appointed agent responsible for distributing funds among creditors. <\/p>\n<p>The Commission&#8217;s statement has faced criticism from the crypto community. It&#8217;s like a club they have to keep ready so no legitimate actor dares to use these boring, honest instruments,&#8221; wrote Thorn. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Coinbase&#8217;s Chief Legal Officer Paul Grewal <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/iampaulgrewal\/status\/1830383985249399093\">added<\/a> that the SEC is resorting to &#8220;threats and slander,&#8221; and that the market and investors &#8220;deserve much better.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>In late August, FTX <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/ftx-creditors-endorse-reorganization-plan\">announced<\/a> overwhelming creditor support for the updated reorganization plan of the exchange.
