Funding was secured in July 2021 through a crowdfunding campaign on the Mirror platform, raising 1035.96 ETH ($1.9 million at the time) in just three days.<\/p>\n<p>The film was directed by Zach Ingrasci and Chris Temple, who in 2023 <a href=\"https:\/\/optimist.co\/films\/thisisnotfinancialadvice\/\">released<\/a> the feature film <span data-descr=\"\"This Is Not Financial Advice\"\" class=\"old_tooltip\">This Is Not Financial Advice<\/span>, focusing on Dogecoin.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Vitalik: An Ethereum Story&#8221; comprises five episodes with a total runtime of two hours:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The story of the Ethereum community&#8217;s creation;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Rabbit Encyclopedia&#8221; \u2014 Vitalik&#8217;s prototype of the metaverse;<\/li>\n<li>The launch of the Uniswap protocol;<\/li>\n<li>The attempt by ConstitutionDAO to purchase a copy of the U.S. Constitution;<\/li>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/gitcoin-shifts-focus-to-ethereum-ecosystem-grants\">Gitcoin<\/a> project.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Vitalik&#8217;s father, Dmitry Buterin, who attended the premiere in Toronto, praised the film. Tickets are available as tokens priced at $20. The creators plan to sell 10,000 copies, with proceeds <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/1iY-iyHtKsqvFxsJJ7zSMmtvKDXGFBJ83EAhy5OMGyEY\/edit?gid=0#gid=0\">allocated<\/a> for the film&#8217;s marketing and distribution.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"vimeo-player\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/960594460?h=9484f89932\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\"\u00a0 \u00a0 allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>A global release on streaming services is scheduled for early 2025.<\/p>\n<p>In spring 2022, rumors emerged that Ridley Scott&#8217;s Scott Free Productions would produce a film based on &#8220;The Infinite Machine,&#8221; a book about the origins of the Ethereum blockchain.<\/p>\n<p>In October 2023, Bloomberg <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/forklog\/33883\">released<\/a> a documentary titled &#8220;RUIN: Money, Ego and Deception at FTX,&#8221; focusing on Sam Bankman-Fried and the collapse of FTX.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On September 18, a documentary film about the cryptocurrency Ethereum and its founder Vitalik Buterin, produced by Optimist studio, premiered in 23 countries.
