The five-year partnership includes fixed infrastructure payments and revenue sharing with an undisclosed cloud AI developer.<\/p>\n<p>The GPU-as-a-service cluster is housed in a Chicago data center and comprises several HPE Cray supercomputers, consisting of 1,000 Nvidia H100 graphics processors.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe launch of our GPU-as-a-service vertical further diversifies our computing segment, which now spans artificial intelligence, bitcoin mining, and traditional cloud services. [\u2026] A well-thought-out AI computing structure will contribute to both financial and strategic growth, revenue diversification, and the creation of long-term value,\u201d commented Hut 8 CEO Asher Genut.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Earlier, Bernstein experts <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/the-convergence-of-ai-and-cryptocurrency-miners-transition-to-data-centers-and-filecoin-partners-with-singularitynet\">noted<\/a> that miners are attractive partners for AI companies and will shift their resources to the neural network sector.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The 12-year <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/core-scientific-to-earn-3-5-billion-from-ai-computing-deal\">agreement between Core Scientific and AI company CoreWeave<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/hut-8-secures-150-million-for-ai-computing-infrastructure-expansion\">Coatue Management&#8217;s $150 million investment in Hut 8<\/a> have been key catalysts for the sector&#8217;s development.<\/p>\n<p>Artificial intelligence <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/ai-energy-consumption-surpasses-bitcoin-mining\">offers 17-25 times more revenue<\/a> per kWh compared to bitcoin mining \u2014 $0.17-0.2 versus $3-5.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The mining company Hut 8 has begun generating revenue by leasing its graphics processors to AI firms, according to The Block.
