The attacker\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 EigenLayer (@eigenlayer) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/eigenlayer\/status\/1842317191045157099?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 4, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The hacker sold the stolen tokens through an undisclosed DeFi platform and transferred the obtained stablecoins to centralized exchanges.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\n<cite>\u201cWe are in contact with these platforms and law enforcement. Some of the funds have already been frozen. The compromise did not affect the broader ecosystem. There are no known vulnerabilities in the protocol or token contracts, and the compromise is not related to any on-chain functionality,\u201d the statement said.<\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The project team has promised to release additional information about the incident later. The investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n<p>Following the news, EIGEN has lost 7.6% over the past 24 hours, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coingecko.com\/en\/coins\/eigenlayer\">CoinGecko<\/a>.
