The bankrupt exchange Mt.Gox has transferred 2500 BTC (worth $222 million) to two unknown addresses: “1PQZw\u2026DDJtK” and “bc1q8\u2026kv4tz”. This information comes from the analytics platform Arkham Intelligence<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The wallet “1PQZw\u2026DDJtK” subsequently transferred the coins to other addresses. <\/p>\n

This marks the fifth Bitcoin transaction in the past two weeks, with the total amount of moved coins exceeding $2 billion. It remains unclear whether these operations are part of future distributions to creditors.<\/p>\n

Previously, the exchange sent 34,371 BTC (~$2.3 billion) to two unknown wallets. This operation was the largest in recent months, following a transfer of 500 BTC on November 1. Earlier transactions were recorded at the end of September.<\/p>\n

In May, Mt.Gox began moving<\/a> its holdings for the first time in five years, which at that time amounted to 137,892 BTC valued at $9.35 billion.<\/p>\n

In July, the exchange’s trustee began compensating users through authorized platforms. At the end of the month, Kraken and Bitstamp reported<\/a> receiving and distributing the assets.<\/p>\n

However, ForkLog discovered that the compensation process is not proceeding smoothly.<\/p>\n
