This marks a significant step toward true network decentralization.<\/p>\n<p>For more information, follow <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LineaAssn?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@LineaAssn<\/a> and\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Uw58YQwIyQ\">https:\/\/t.co\/Uw58YQwIyQ<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Linea (@LineaBuild) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LineaBuild\/status\/1856619123033161959?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 13, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The Linea Association will focus on three main objectives:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>supporting technology;<\/li>\n<li>market development;<\/li>\n<li>advancing the decentralization roadmap.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The initiative includes the launch of the Linea governance token in the first quarter of 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The non-profit will grant asset holders governance over the Linea Association&#8217;s activities related to core intellectual property and treasury.<\/p>\n<p>Details are still being finalized.<\/p>\n<p>The governance of the Linea Association will feature a multi-tiered structure, including:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a board of directors;<\/li>\n<li>a general assembly;<\/li>\n<li>staff reporting to an executive director;<\/li>\n<li>token holder representation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cWe want to make this very open and transparent,\u201d<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/consensys-linea-new-swiss-nonprofit-association\">commented<\/a> Linea&#8217;s product lead, Declan Fox.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>He noted that the team has recently focused on decentralization from both technical and governance perspectives.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cLinea should belong to everyone and operate openly as a public good, like Ethereum,\u201d<\/em> explained Linea founder Nicolas Liochon.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>ConsenSys founder Joseph Lubin emphasized his skepticism towards L2s that are overly controlled by a company or a very narrow group of participants.<\/p>\n<p>Back in October, the Linea team introduced a protocol improvement proposal with decentralization solutions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ConsenSys, the developer behind Linea, has established the non-profit Linea Association to foster the development and decentralization of its Ethereum-based L2 using ZK-Rollups.
