BitGo safeguards cryptocurrencies for exchange-traded funds from ARK Invest, 21Shares, and CoinShares, and is one of five approved platforms for <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/bitgo-transfers-2-billion-in-bitcoin-linked-to-mt-gox\">distributing Mt.Gox assets<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The firm also issues the largest &#8220;wrapped&#8221; Bitcoin on Ethereum \u2014 WBTC. In August, BitGo entered into a <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/bitgo-partners-with-justin-sun-and-tron-to-expand-wbtc-custody\">strategic partnership<\/a> with Justin Sun and Tron. The initiative involves joint control over the asset through the Hong Kong-based company BiT Global associated with them.<\/p>\n<p>Sun&#8217;s involvement in the deal raised concerns within parts of the community, leading to some issues with WBTC. For instance, the MakerDAO community (<a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/makerdao-rebrands-as-sky-introduces-new-tokens\">now Sky<\/a>) approved a proposal <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/makerdao-halts-new-loans-backed-by-wrapped-bitcoin\">to halt<\/a> new loans backed by the asset. Exchanges Coinbase and Kraken have launched their own tokenized Bitcoin alternatives \u2014 cbBTC and kBTC, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, BitGo announced a dollar-backed stablecoin, USDS, which offers income for providing liquidity.
