Coincheck will become the second cryptocurrency exchange on the US stock market alongside Coinbase. <\/p>\n<p>The company will achieve public status through a merger with Thunder Bridge Capital Partners IV as part of a <span data-descr=\"special purpose acquisition company\" class=\"old_tooltip\">SPAC<\/span> deal. <\/p>\n<p>Initially, the team planned to list on Nasdaq on July 2, 2023, with a valuation of $1.25 billion. <\/p>\n<p>Coincheck is a centralized exchange registered in Japan in 2014. At the time of writing, the platform <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coingecko.com\/en\/exchanges\/coincheck\">offers<\/a> 19 pairs with 16 crypto assets, with a daily trading volume of $159.9 million.<\/p>\n<p>In 2018, Coincheck fell victim to one of the largest hacks in the industry&#8217;s history, suffering a loss of approximately $533 million in NEM cryptocurrency.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in December, media reported that the Japanese exchange DMM Bitcoin is preparing for liquidation following a hack and a loss of $320 million in bitcoins.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On December 11, trading of shares in the centralized exchange Coincheck will commence on Nasdaq.
