{"id":20139,"date":"2025-01-08T16:44:11","date_gmt":"2025-01-08T14:44:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/fidelity-says-national-adoption-of-bitcoin-will-spur-crypto-markets-in-2025\/"},"modified":"2025-01-08T16:44:11","modified_gmt":"2025-01-08T14:44:11","slug":"fidelity-says-national-adoption-of-bitcoin-will-spur-crypto-markets-in-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/fidelity-says-national-adoption-of-bitcoin-will-spur-crypto-markets-in-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Fidelity says national adoption of bitcoin will spur crypto markets in 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In 2025, the first cryptocurrency is expected to be added to the strategic reserves of several countries, a development that would give a significant lift to the digital-asset market, according to a report by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fidelitydigitalassets.com\/research-and-insights\/2025-look-ahead\">Fidelity Digital Assets<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cMore and more governments, central banks, sovereign wealth funds and treasuries are seeking to take strategic positions in bitcoin,\u201d the document says.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Analysts think authorities may look to the crypto strategies of <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/el-salvador-expands-bitcoin-purchases-despite-imf-deal\">El Salvador<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/bhutan-transfers-additional-367-btc-to-binance\">Bhutan<\/a>, as well as to the \u201csubstantial profits they have managed to generate over a relatively short period of time\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Ignoring bitcoin will pose greater risks for countries than adding it to strategic reserves, Fidelity added, citing macroeconomic problems such as inflation, currency depreciation and budget deficits.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cIt is likely that national governments will begin to accumulate digital assets covertly. No country has an incentive to announce such plans, as doing so could trigger an influx of buyers and push up the price,\u201d the experts explained.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to the firm\u2019s forecasts, structured and managed digital assets \u201cwill go mainstream\u201d in 2025, as it is \u201chard to overstate the success\u201d of spot exchange-traded funds based on bitcoin and Ethereum. Another trend will be tokenisation and RWA.<\/p>\n<p>Fidelity advised investors to \u201cprepare for acceleration\u201d amid \u201cgrowing adoption, development, interest and demand for cryptocurrencies\u201d. It noted that \u201cit is not too late to join the digital-asset movement\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, JPMorgan analysts said bitcoin and gold had acquired structural significance in investors\u2019 portfolios.
