They offer the chance to meet members of the incoming administration and, potentially, curry favour with the president.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/01\/08\/us\/politics\/trump-inauguration-donors.html\">The New York Times<\/a>, funds raised by Mr Trump\u2019s team set a record, nearing $200m. He did not tie this to the outcome, arguing that the current administration\u2019s hostility toward the sector would give way regardless.<\/p>\n<p>Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/ripple-co-founder-donates-10-million-in-xrp-to-support-kamala-harris\">donated large sums<\/a> to support Mr Trump\u2019s opponent, the Democratic nominee Kamala Harris.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Robinhood<\/h2>\n<p>According to Decrypt, the online broker, which has expanded crypto support in recent years, sent $2m to the inauguration fund.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cRobinhood is pleased to welcome a new era of American innovation and smart regulation that promotes free markets, investor access and consumer choice,\u201d said the company\u2019s vice president Mary Elizabeth Taylor to the publication.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>She stressed Robinhood\u2019s readiness to work with the Trump administration to bring \u201cpositive changes to markets\u201d and \u201cdemocratize finance.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Coinbase<\/h2>\n<p>A representative of the largest U.S. bitcoin exchange told Decrypt it donated $1m to Mr Trump\u2019s inauguration.<\/p>\n<p>The firm was among the first donors, wiring funds in mid-December.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cCoinbase seeks to work with the administration and both sides of Congress to create clarity in crypto regulation.
