In pharmaceuticals, we see great potential for applying <span data-descr=\"large language models\" class=\"old_tooltip\">LLM<\/span>,\u201d commented XtalPi&#8217;s Chief Scientific Officer Zhang Peiyu.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to his forecasts, the integration of robotics and artificial intelligence will reduce drug discovery timelines from four years to two.<\/p>\n<p>XtalPi was founded in 2014 by quantum physicists from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. A year later, the firm established a research and development base in Shenzhen, China. <\/p>\n<p>The company has become a key player in AI-driven drug development, serving nearly 80% of major pharmaceutical firms worldwide. <\/p>\n<p>In XtalPi&#8217;s automated chemical laboratory, around 200 AI-powered robots are operational.<\/p>\n<p>Despite significant achievements, Peiyu noted that China lags behind the United States in top-tier innovations and fundamental research in biomedicine. <\/p>\n<p>Back in December, researchers from the Chinese University of Hong Kong <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/hong-kong-utilizes-ai-for-eye-disease-analysis\">developed<\/a> an AI model for addressing clinical tasks in ophthalmology, such as screening and diagnosing diseases. <\/p>\n<p>Previously, scientists <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/scientists-develop-ai-device-to-restore-speech\">created<\/a> a \u201csmart throat\u201d system, enabling stroke survivors and patients with dysarthria to regain natural speech. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>XtalPi Holdings, a company focused on accelerating drug development, has increased the success rate of chemical experiments from 20-30% to 90% through the use of a specially designed AI model, according to SCMP. \u201cThere are many good opportunities [for artificial intelligence] in vertical fields.
