Binance executive Tigran Gambaryan has expressed his readiness to work with federal law enforcement under the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump. He made this statement to CoinDesk<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to informed sources, the organizer of the Bitcoin 2024 conference<\/a>, David Bailey, and Kraken’s head of strategic initiatives, Tracy Ojos-Lopez, previously recommended Gambaryan for several high-ranking positions. Specifically, these included the role of head of the cryptocurrency division at the SEC<\/span> and the head of the FBI’s cyber division.<\/p>\n

In comments to the media, Gambaryan stated that although he is not a political figure, he conducted several high-profile investigations<\/a> during Trump’s last presidential term as a federal agent with the IRS<\/span>.<\/p>\n

“If the opportunity arose, it would be an honor for me to serve my country again and work alongside the incredible men and women in federal law enforcement who tirelessly worked to bring me back to my family,” he added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Binance CEO Richard Teng commented on the potential move of his colleague to Trump’s team:<\/p>\n

“At the moment, Tigran is still a member of our staff, so let’s see what his intentions are. I am not privy to his thoughts. I am not privy to the U.S. administration’s process.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Last year, Nigerian authorities detained<\/a> Gambaryan and Binance’s director for West and East Africa, Nadim Anjarwalla, as part of investigations into money laundering<\/a> and tax evasion<\/a> by the exchange.<\/p>\n

Gambaryan spent eight months in the Kuje correctional facility in Abuja. In October, the Nigerian government dropped all charges against him<\/a>.
