This was reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theblock.co\/post\/336489\/nasdaqs-official-x-account-was-seemingly-hacked-to-promote-a-fake-memecoin\">The Block<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The perpetrator initially renamed the fake page to a Nasdaq branch, posted an advertisement for the newly issued memecoin, and retweeted it on the exchange&#8217;s genuine account.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/dexscreener.com\/solana\/5n96fyr2zzainyzaygai31xvt5exzfpnwh2s95yaxxsv\">DEXscreener<\/a>, the market capitalization of the fake STONKS coin surged to $80 million, only to collapse shortly thereafter.<\/p>\n<p>At the time of writing, the tweet has been deleted and the fake accounts have been blocked.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in 2025, a number of cryptocurrency and venture projects have already been <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/litecoins-x-account-promoted-a-fake-memecoin\">compromised to promote fake memecoins<\/a>.
