This provides a throughput of ~210 <span data-descr=\"transactions per second\" class=\"old_tooltip\">TPS<\/span>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cWith the planned <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/ethereum-targets-march-mainnet-activation-for-pectra\">March<\/a> release of [the update] Pectra, we expect to double this number to six BLOB objects per slot,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The figure will increase another two to three times after the implementation of the PeerDAS protocol, which will be the main goal of the next upgrade \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/ethereum\/EIPs\/blob\/master\/EIPS\/eip-7607.md\/\">Fusaka<\/a>. In the near future, already developed solutions will allow reaching 128 arrays per slot. Buterin reminded that Ethereum&#8217;s long-term goal is a throughput of 100,000 TPS.<\/p>\n<p>To accelerate this process, he proposed several possible steps, including shifting research priorities in favor of BLOB objects.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding the enhancement of L2 network compatibility, Buterin noted that a few months ago \u201ca fairly clear roadmap emerged on how to achieve this.\u201d It includes:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>unified addresses;<\/li>\n<li>standardized cross-chain bridges and messaging protocols;<\/li>\n<li>faster deposit and withdrawal times;<\/li>\n<li>synchronous reading of L1 data from L2;<\/li>\n<li>joint sequencing and several other long-term tasks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cWhile these standards are being implemented, L2s still have many opportunities to gain different options from each other: experimenting with different virtual machines, sequencing models, trade-offs in scale and security, or other parameters,\u201d Buterin added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>He also highlighted the ETH economy and proposed establishing the cryptocurrency of the base network as the main asset of the entire ecosystem (L1+L2).<\/p>\n<p>In Buterin&#8217;s view, it is necessary to follow a strategy of using all possible sources of ether&#8217;s value as a \u201ctriple-point asset.\u201d This means the cryptocurrency acts as a primary means, a consumed product, and a savings tool.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Bez-nazvaniya-56.webp\" alt=\"Bez-nazvaniya-56\" class=\"wp-image-250335\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Ethereum (ETH) as a \u201ctriple-point asset.\u201d Source: blog.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Among the key points of the strategy, he noted:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>encouraging L2 projects with a share of fees for supporting the cryptocurrency;<\/li>\n<li>incentivizing rollups as an opportunity for L1 to receive part of the revenue from MEV;<\/li>\n<li>increasing the number of BLOB objects with a minimum price set for them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In January, Polynomial co-founder Gautam Santhosh <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/expert-highlights-scalability-limits-of-ethereums-layer-2\">warned of the risk<\/a> of L2 networks reaching the scaling limit of the main blockchain in the coming months.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has stated in a new article that the ecosystem will primarily scale through L2 solutions.
