Kazakhstan must accelerate the development of AI and integrate its elements into the e-government system by the end of 2025, according to a statement by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of the Republic. He emphasized<\/a> this during an extended government meeting.<\/p>\n

Among the priority areas, he highlighted Smart City projects<\/a> and the educational program AI-Sana<\/a> for higher education institutions.<\/p>\n

As a benchmark, the president suggested using China’s experience. He mentioned that the DeepSeek platform, “costing literally $6.5 million, outperformed programs that had billions of dollars spent on them in terms of efficiency.”<\/p>\n

“I instruct the government to begin implementing artificial intelligence tools in government agencies and national companies,” Tokayev noted.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The head of state also recommended changing the approach to the circulation of digital assets. Citing expert assessments, he reported that 95% of Kazakh crypto investors operate in the “grey” zone.<\/p>\n

“There is an urgent need to create infrastructure for a broader legal circulation of digital assets. Financial regulators must work on forming the appropriate legislative framework,” the president declared.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Another significant task for the government will be to collaborate with law enforcement and financial regulators to combat online fraud.<\/p>\n

In Kazakhstan, cryptocurrency trading and the activities of crypto exchanges are permitted exclusively within the jurisdiction of the AIFC<\/span> with a license, and miners are required to obtain permission.<\/p>\n
