The total value of the coins amounts to $598.4 million.<\/p>\n<p>In late January, as part of an agreement with the <span data-descr=\"International Monetary Fund\" class=\"old_tooltip\">IMF<\/span>, El Salvador&#8217;s Congress <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/el-salvador-revises-bitcoin-strategy-following-imfs-directive\">approved<\/a> amendments to the national crypto strategy to ensure the &#8220;permanence of bitcoin as legal tender.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The technology company Semler Scientific also continues to expand its bitcoin reserve. Between January 11 and February 3, the firm <a href=\"https:\/\/ir.semlerscientific.com\/news-releases\/news-release-details\/semler-scientificr-announces-updated-btc-activity-monetizes\">purchased<\/a> 871 BTC for $88.5 million at an average price of $101,616. It controls 3192 BTC, having spent a total of $280.4 million.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The leader in corporate bitcoin purchases, MicroStrategy, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/saylor\/status\/1886400323268345864\">did not acquire<\/a> any BTC between January 27 and February 2.<\/p>\n<p>In January, CryptoQuant analysts concluded that since the U.S. presidential elections, the main drivers of bitcoin&#8217;s price <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/cryptoquant-bitcoins-rise-attributed-to-major-investors\">have been<\/a> large investors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On February 4, El Salvador&#8217;s authorities expanded the national bitcoin reserve by 11 BTC (approximately $1.1 million), once again deviating from their strategy of purchasing one coin per day.
