Its head promised to present &#8220;something no one has ever seen on a humanoid&#8221; within 30 days.<\/p>\n<p>In February 2024, the startup <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/ai-startup-figure-secures-675-million-from-microsoft-and-jeff-bezos\">secured<\/a> $675 million from Jeff Bezos, Microsoft, Nvidia, and several other investors. At that time, the company <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2024\/02\/29\/figure-rides-the-humanoid-robot-hype-wave-to-2-6b-valuation-and-openai-collab\/\">partnered<\/a> with OpenAI to &#8220;develop next-generation AI models focused on humanoids.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In March, the firm showcased the first result of the collaboration.<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/telegram.org\/js\/telegram-widget.js?22\" data-telegram-post=\"forklogAI\/4550\" data-width=\"100%\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Adcock <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/02\/04\/figure-drops-openai-in-favor-of-in-house-models\/\">cited<\/a> the lack of OpenAI&#8217;s focus on integrating AI into physical objects as the reason for the split.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;We concluded that to scale artificial intelligence in the real world, it is necessary to vertically integrate AI into robots. We cannot outsource AI for the same reason we cannot outsource our hardware,&#8221; he noted.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In June, Figure <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/figure-unveils-second-generation-humanoid-robot\">introduced<\/a> a new generation of humanoid robot \u2014 Figure 02. Meanwhile, OpenAI is independently working on creating a bot, according to media reports.<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/telegram.org\/js\/telegram-widget.js?22\" data-telegram-post=\"forklogAI\/5537\" data-width=\"100%\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Additionally, ChatGPT developer CEO Sam Altman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/technology\/artificial-intelligence\/openais-altman-stop-abu-dhabi-mgx-fundraising-talks-sources-say-2025-02-05\/\">plans<\/a> to visit the UAE to discuss fundraising with the investment group MGX.
