MEV \u2014 the value extracted by rearranging or censoring transactions \u2014 remains a problem as advanced players dominate the <a href=\"https:\/\/ethereum.org\/en\/roadmap\/pbs\/\">Proposer-Builder Separation<\/a> (PBS) ecosystem.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The researcher proposed a mechanism called <span data-descr=\"decentralized random block proposal\" class=\"old_tooltip\">Decentralized Random Block Proposal<\/span>, which involves all clients in block formation, not just validators and the proposed builders in PBS.<\/p>\n<p>According to his concept, clients like Geth and Nethermind use a function similar to the Verifiable Delay Function (VDF) used by validators to randomly select transactions from the local mempool. Participants then simultaneously broadcast the assembled block to validators, who filter out invalid transactions and compute the hash.<\/p>\n<p>The expert believes that due to the random selection of transactions, MEV manipulations at the block level will become impossible \u2014 no one knows which operations will be included in the set and cannot influence their order.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, such a mechanism is more resistant to DDoS attacks \u2014 \u201cspam\u201d is evenly distributed across the mempool, preventing overload of individual nodes.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-qw.googleusercontent.com\/docsz\/AD_4nXcQTvrqaSUNO0CTMTOO5Qm2jMum4om1M5nwccW4Zko-WZTCgoEtWlfkDRuzrhpM2zpRl3dIpluYC6Ox3DOYPYat89Cr3xlZrgqEMivCCz2ZTL2YJ5pBMaCzGucvKLwqQc3am7uXUg?key=KvKHIFfxaILdOxrNfV2O89Kg\" alt=\"Researcher Proposes Countermeasure to Centralization and MEV in Ethereum\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Source: Ethereum Research.\u00a0<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The researcher added that the proposed method is not as optimized for rollups as PBS, but \u201cprioritizes fairness and full democratization\u201d:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a trade-off: impartiality versus L2 precision. It\u2019s the best option for Ethereum, which values equality over efficiency.
