The Chinese manufacturer <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/bitmain-expands-antminer-s21-bitcoin-miner-range\">introduced<\/a> the bitcoin miner model in July 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Bitdeer confirmed that mass production of the SEALMINER A3 is scheduled for the second quarter of this year. During the same period, the firm is expected to unveil a next-generation chip with an energy consumption rate of 5 J\/TH.<\/p>\n<p>In its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globenewswire.com\/news-release\/2025\/02\/25\/3031844\/0\/en\/Bitdeer-Reports-Unaudited-Financial-Results-for-the-Fourth-Quarter-and-Full-Year-of-2024.html\">financial report<\/a> for the fourth quarter, the company stated its intention to increase its own hash rate to ~40 EH\/s by the end of 2025 from the current 8.7 EH\/s. This is expected to be achieved through the deployment of mass-produced SEALMINER A1 and A2 miners. The firm allocated devices with a total capacity of 7 EH\/s for external buyers.<\/p>\n<p>The SEALMINER A3 installations were not mentioned in the hash rate expansion plans. Bitdeer also reported that in the fourth quarter, it paid TSMC $190.6 million for SEAL02 chips and $52.8 million for &#8220;bringing SEAL03 to market.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The company intensified its efforts to enter the bitcoin miner manufacturing segment after <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/tether-invests-100-million-in-bitdeer\">receiving $100 million<\/a> in investments from Tether in May 2024. Later, Bitdeer <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/riot-expands-stake-in-rival-as-core-scientific-rejects-1-billion-acquisition\">acquired<\/a> chip developer FreeChain Inc (Desiweminer).<\/p>\n<p>In September, the firm successfully <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/bitdeer-tests-seal02-chip-for-bitcoin-mining\">tested<\/a> SEAL02, and in November, production of SEALMINER A2 based on it began.<\/p>\n<p>Bitmain co-founder Jihan Wu acquired Bitdeer as part of a settlement for his departure from the mining giant in early 2021. The package also included $600 million, the BTC.com pool, and cryptocurrency mining data centers outside China. The agreement concluded a long-standing conflict between the entrepreneur and former partner Micree Zhan.<\/p>\n<p>Wu almost immediately sold BTC.com to online lottery provider 500.com Limited (now BIT Mining Limited).<\/p>\n<p>In April 2023, Bitdeer went public on Nasdaq through a reverse merger with <span data-descr=\"special-purpose acquisition company \u2014 a company created for mergers and acquisitions\" class=\"old_tooltip\">SPAC<\/span> Blue Safari Group Acquisition Corp.<\/p>\n<p>Analysts at Bernstein estimate that mining equipment sales in the United States alone could <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/bernstein-projects-20-billion-bitcoin-mining-equipment-market-in-the-us\">reach $20 billion<\/a> over the next five years.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jihan Wu&#8217;s Bitdeer has announced the successful testing of its new bitcoin mining chip, SEAL03, which demonstrated an energy efficiency of 9.7 J\/TH. ?Just In!
