She was married to the current president from 1993 to 1999, and they have a daughter, Tiffany.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In late April 2024, Ver, known as &#8220;Bitcoin Jesus,&#8221; was <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/roger-ver-arrested-for-tax-evasion\">detained in Spain<\/a> at the request of the U.S. Department of Justice. Authorities accuse him of mail fraud, tax evasion, and filing false returns, with alleged damages amounting to $48 million.<\/p>\n<p>Ver renounced his U.S. citizenship in 2014, but under current law, he was required to report certain income to the <span data-descr=\"Internal Revenue Service\" class=\"old_tooltip\">IRS<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>In December 2024, the entrepreneur <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/roger-ver-challenges-tax-evasion-allegations-over-bitcoin-transactions\">challenged<\/a> the tax evasion charges in a California court. In an interview with journalist Tucker Carlson, Ver claimed that the real <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/roger-ver-accuses-us-authorities-of-political-persecution\">reason for his prosecution<\/a> was his political views. The government allegedly disapproves of his statements and role in promoting cryptocurrencies.<\/p>\n<p>The Freerogernow group includes several notable figures, such as Forbes author Jeffrey Tucker, radio show host Alex Jones, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, and Silk Road darknet market creator Ross Ulbricht.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/donald-trump-pardons-ross-ulbricht\">pardoned<\/a> Ulbricht by executive order in January 2025. Ulbricht was serving two life sentences plus 40 years in prison.<\/p>\n<p>At that time, when asked by a user about the possibility of a similar presidential decision regarding the Bitcoin.com founder, Musk <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1883408063694254415\">replied<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;Roger Ver renounced his U.S. citizenship. No pardon.
