{"id":22268,"date":"2025-03-20T16:58:43","date_gmt":"2025-03-20T14:58:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/uniswap-foundation-secures-approval-for-172-million-funding\/"},"modified":"2025-03-20T16:58:43","modified_gmt":"2025-03-20T14:58:43","slug":"uniswap-foundation-secures-approval-for-172-million-funding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/uniswap-foundation-secures-approval-for-172-million-funding\/","title":{"rendered":"Uniswap Foundation Secures Approval for $172 Million Funding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Uniswap <span data-descr=\"decentralized exchange\" class=\"old_tooltip\">DEX<\/span> community has voted in favor of two governance proposals to allocate approximately $172 million in UNI tokens to the newly established Uniswap Foundation (UF) funds.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">We&#8217;re thrilled to announce that last night, both UF governance proposals passed quorum.<\/p>\n<p>This marks the beginning of our community&#8217;s next era: one that unlocks new opportunities to build, grow and to create and capture value.<\/p>\n<p>\u2192<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/h1NnLUFskL\">https:\/\/t.co\/h1NnLUFskL<\/a><br \/>\u2192<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/kchEqv2PDH\">https:\/\/t.co\/kchEqv2PDH<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/udvUgdA3TR\">pic.twitter.com\/udvUgdA3TR<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Uniswap Foundation (@UniswapFND) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/UniswapFND\/status\/1902397448573874220?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 19, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>A joint initiative by UF and fintech company Gauntlet to support liquidity incentive programs on the <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/uniswap-launches-unichain-mainnet\">Unichain<\/a> network and the <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/uniswap-labs-launches-uniswap-v4\">Uniswap v4<\/a> protocol received 83.6% of the votes in favor.<\/p>\n<p>Funds amounting to nearly 7.6 million UNI (~$51.3 million) will be directed to a specially created Aera vault.<\/p>\n<p>The second proposal involved allocating $95.4 million to the UF grants budget, along with $25.1 million for implementing &#8220;strategic priorities&#8221; over two years.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the current exchange rate, the request amounts to approximately 17.8 million UNI. It was approved by 85.6% of the votes.<\/p>\n<p>The funds will be used to develop the Uniswap and Unichain ecosystems. Plans include creating a comprehensive developer platform under the Core Contributor initiative, new tools such as conditional funding markets, and &#8220;much more.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Back in February, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/sec-concludes-investigation-into-uniswap-labs\">closed its investigation<\/a> into Uniswap Labs, the company behind the centralized exchange.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Uniswap DEX community has voted in favor of two governance proposals to allocate approximately $172 million in UNI tokens to the newly established Uniswap Foundation (UF) funds.
