J. Phillips told the agency that a consortium of investors was involved in crafting the proposal. He declined to provide details about the bid or the contributors backing it.<\/p>\n<p>The proposal has been submitted to the White House for consideration.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cOur bid to acquire TikTok is not just a change of ownership; it represents a new paradigm where both creators and their communities directly benefit from the value they generate,\u201d Phillips emphasized.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/04\/02\/business\/media\/amazon-tiktok-bid.html\">New York Times<\/a>, Amazon is also among the contenders to purchase TikTok.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, U.S. authorities mandated ByteDance to either <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/technology\/andreessen-horowitz-talks-help-buy-out-tiktoks-chinese-owners-ft-reports-2025-04-01\/\">sell<\/a> the platform by April 5 or face a ban in the United States.<\/p>\n<p>Back in January, AI startup Perplexity AI <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/reports-perplexity-ai-proposes-merger-with-tiktok-u-s\">announced<\/a> its intention to acquire the American TikTok.<\/p>\n<p>On March 4, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/reddit-co-founder-aims-to-bring-tiktok-to-blockchain\">joined<\/a> a group of investors looking to buy the American segment of the social network\u2019s business.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Zoop, a startup founded by OnlyFans creator Tim Stokely, along with HBAR Foundation, the developer of Hedera, have submitted a joint bid to acquire TikTok from the Chinese company ByteDance, according to Reuters.
