This was stated by the head of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/asia-pacific\/pakistan-turns-bitcoin-miners-ai-data-centers-use-surplus-power-2025-04-09\/\">Reuters<\/a> reported, Bilal bin Saqib, advisor to the Minister of Finance and head of the <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/pakistan-establishes-council-to-promote-cryptocurrency\">Crypto Council<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The country&#8217;s energy sector is grappling with issues of excess generating capacity and rising tariffs.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The situation is exacerbated by the rapid development of solar power, which more consumers are turning to in order to reduce costs.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Cryptocurrency mining is intended to boost demand in the sector, allowing energy companies to reduce production costs. According to Saqib, the location of bitcoin mining facilities will be determined based on the surplus electricity available in specific regions.<\/p>\n<p>According to Reuters, Binance founder Changpeng Zhao acts as a strategic advisor to Pakistan&#8217;s Crypto Council.
