BNB (@cz_binance) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/cz_binance\/status\/1911017852255048110?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 12, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The discussion centers around a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/finance\/regulation\/binance-world-liberty-financial-crypto-deals-70c817c3\">Wall Street Journal article<\/a> detailing a meeting between US Treasury officials and Binance, as well as a &#8220;previously undisclosed agreement&#8221; between CZ and US prosecutors, citing anonymous sources.<\/p>\n<p>In 2024, CZ was <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/binance-founder-changpeng-zhao-sentenced-to-four-months-in-prison\">sentenced<\/a> to four months in prison on money laundering charges. The entrepreneur agreed to pay a $50 million fine and cease involvement in Binance activities. In September 2024, he was <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/binance-founder-released-ahead-of-schedule\">released<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to the WSJ report, the exchange&#8217;s founder allegedly offered to testify against Sun, who has been embroiled in a legal battle with the SEC since 2023.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>&#8220;WSJ is really trying here. To this day, his conduct and principles remain the highest standard I strive to follow as a founder,&#8221; Sun wrote.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The Tron leader also mentioned maintaining &#8220;direct and honest&#8221; communication with the Justice Department and partners, whom he &#8220;fully trusts.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Zhao <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/cz_binance\/status\/1910588384168255829\">added<\/a> that he had heard about the publication preparing &#8220;another baseless article&#8221; and <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/cz_binance\/status\/1910611387350499454\">lobbying<\/a> against Binance in the US by &#8220;certain players.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Back in March, WSJ journalists <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/wsj-trumps-family-considered-acquiring-stake-in-binance-us\">reported<\/a> on negotiations between Binance and the family of US President Donald Trump regarding the purchase of a stake in the exchange&#8217;s American division.
