This refers to the <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/garantex-halts-operations-following-usdt-wallet-freeze\">freezing<\/a> of assets on the Garantex exchange by Tether.<\/p>\n<p>Kabaloev noted that creating domestic instruments similar to USDT could solve issues with international settlements. He added that such stablecoins could be tied to currencies not associated with the dollar.<\/p>\n<p>In March, the US Department of Justice <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/us-justice-department-reports-on-garantex-domain-seizure\">confirmed<\/a> the blocking of Garantex domains and the freezing of $26 million in the platform&#8217;s wallets.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the exchange&#8217;s team announced plans to <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/garantex-pledges-to-compensate-clients-for-frozen-crypto-assets\">compensate<\/a> clients&#8217; crypto assets and <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/garantex-exchange-addresses-tether-asset-freeze\">invited<\/a> them to its Moscow office.<\/p>\n<p>Later, it <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/garantex-operators-launch-new-cryptocurrency-exchange\">was revealed<\/a> that Garantex user funds were transferred to the Grinex platform.
