This was reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/kaztag.kz\/ru\/news\/obshchenatsionalnyy-kriptoobmennik-namereny-sozdat-v-kazakhstane\">local media<\/a>, citing a statement from the regulator&#8217;s head, Timur Suleimenov.<\/p>\n<p>The new provider will replace unregulated foreign platforms, offering broader capabilities than the crypto projects currently available at the <span data-descr=\"Astana International Financial Centre\" class=\"old_tooltip\">AIFC<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>These changes are expected to be included in the new Banking Law, set for adoption in August 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The law will also address:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the issuance of digital financial assets (DFA) and the tokenization of <span data-descr=\"traditional finance\" class=\"old_tooltip\">TradFi<\/span> instruments;<\/li>\n<li>the creation of a stablecoin backed by digital tenge;<\/li>\n<li>the testing of new products in experimental legal regimes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Suleimenov highlighted the importance of a national crypto provider in light of the growing public demand for cryptocurrency trading.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThis will bring cryptocurrency transactions out of the shadows, ensure their transparency, enhance consumer rights protection, and strengthen control over digital asset circulation,\u201d noted the head of the National Bank.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In the initial phase of the exchange&#8217;s launch, citizens will be allowed to conduct transactions in limited volumes to protect inexperienced market participants. The use of cryptocurrencies for payments within the country will remain prohibited.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, deputies of Kazakhstan&#8217;s <span data-descr=\"lower house of parliament\" class=\"old_tooltip\">Mazhilis<\/span> proposed the idea of <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/kazakhstan-considers-establishing-a-crypto-bank-to-regulate-the-sector\">establishing a crypto bank<\/a> to regulate the industry.<\/p>\n<p>Back in January, the National Bank announced the development of a concept for an <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/kazakhstan-to-develop-investment-stablecoin-concept\">investment stablecoin<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kazakhstan&#8217;s National Bank plans to regulate cryptocurrency circulation nationwide by establishing a licensed national exchange.
