Emmy nominee Julia Garner will portray Alameda Research CEO Caroline Ellison, while the search for an actor to play platform co-founder Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) continues.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Julia Garner to star as Caroline Ellison in a limited series about the collapse of cryptocurrency exchange FTX, and the relationship between FTX co-founder and chief executive Sam Bankman-Fried and his girlfriend and business associate Ellison. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Df1miZIjb4\">pic.twitter.com\/Df1miZIjb4<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Film Updates (@FilmUpdates) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FilmUpdates\/status\/1918428692596048011?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 2, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The script will be entrusted to Oscar winner Graham Moore, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whats-on-netflix.com\/news\/sam-bankman-fried-biopic-series-in-works-at-netflix\/\">What\u2019s on Netflix<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Evan Peters, known for his role in the award-winning Netflix series DAHMER, may be cast as SBF, although negotiations regarding his participation remain uncertain.<\/p>\n<p>Netflix secured the rights to adapt the story of FTX&#8217;s downfall and the relationship between Ellison and Bankman-Fried. Their romantic involvement will frame the narrative of the eight-episode series.<\/p>\n<p>In September 2024, a court <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/former-alameda-research-ceo-caroline-ellison-sentenced-to-two-years-in-prison\">sentenced<\/a> Ellison to two years in prison and the forfeiture of $11 billion on charges of fraud and money laundering.<\/p>\n<p>SBF was arrested on December 12, 2022, in the Bahamas at the request of the U.S. government. In March 2024, he was sentenced to <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/community-deems-sam-bankman-frieds-sentence-too-lenient\">25 years in prison<\/a> on seven counts of money laundering, fraud, and conspiracy.<\/p>\n<p>On February 20, Bankman-Fried once again <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/sbf-labels-ftx-collapse-a-liquidity-crisis-and-seeks-pardon\">claimed<\/a> that at the time of its collapse, the exchange was solvent but illiquid.
