As Bitcoin reaches<\/a> new all-time highs, venture financing is also gaining momentum. Over the past week, cryptocurrency projects have attracted $214 million.<\/p>\n

According to DeFi Llama<\/a>, the total amount of funds directed into the industry since the beginning of 2025 has reached $7.7 billion, an 87% increase compared to the same period in 2024.<\/p>\n

Venture funds also hold a significant amount of undistributed capital. For instance, a16z crypto established its fourth fund of $4.5 billion back in 2022. The total amount of funds under management has reached $7.6 billion<\/a>, with a substantial portion yet to be invested.<\/p>\n

The market is further boosted by the easing of monetary policy by the Fed<\/span> and support for the crypto sector from the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n

Worldcoin<\/h2>\n

The iris-scanning project founded by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman raised $135 million<\/a> through the sale of WLD tokens to funds a16z and Bain Capital Crypto.<\/p>\n

The funds will be used to develop the World ID digital identification system and expand into the U.S.<\/p>\n

Slash<\/h2>\n

The fintech startup providing banking services to marketing agencies and crypto companies raised $41 million<\/a> in a Series B round led by Goodwater Capital, reports Fortune.<\/p>\n

The platform allows businesses to convert fiat into cryptocurrencies and manage digital assets.<\/p>\n

Catena Labs<\/h2>\n

The a16z crypto fund led<\/a> the seed round of the startup Catena Labs, raising $18 million. The project is backed by Circle co-founder Sam Neville. The platform is developing a bank for AI agents\u2014algorithms that analyze data and execute trades without human intervention.<\/p>\n

According to Neville, Catena Labs will use stablecoins but will not limit itself to them.<\/p>\n

Analysts at PitchBook predict<\/a> that by the end of the year, the industry could attract up to $18 billion\u2014almost double the average annual figures of the previous two years.<\/p>\n
