They were remotely controlled but had pre-programmed behavior models such as punches, kicks, and evasions.<\/p>\n<p>The robots were equipped with <span data-descr=\"remote scanning technology that uses laser pulses to measure distances to objects and create their three-dimensional models\" class=\"old_tooltip\">LiDAR<\/span> sensors and depth cameras. They demonstrated strikes, combinations, and the ability to maintain balance. Teams of engineers controlled the machines via controllers or voice commands. In May, a video surfaced online showing a Unitree H1 &#8220;attacking&#8221; engineers. It turned out the robot was in a falling state, causing it to twitch in an attempt to stabilize.<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/telegram.org\/js\/telegram-widget.js?22\" data-telegram-post=\"forklogAI\/5933\" data-width=\"100%\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>In March 2024, Unitree&#8217;s H1 android became the first robot to perform a backflip from a standing position.<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/telegram.org\/js\/telegram-widget.js?22\" data-telegram-post=\"forklogAI\/4620\" data-width=\"100%\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>In April, a humanoid robot <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/robots-join-humans-in-beijing-half-marathon\">participated<\/a> in the Beijing half marathon. This marked the first time machines ran alongside humans for a distance of 21 km.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Robots Adapt to Daily Life<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Another Chinese company, UBTech Robotics, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2025-05-23\/a-20-000-home-companion-robot-from-china-to-debut-this-year?srnd=phx-ai\">plans<\/a> to introduce a $20,000 humanoid robot in 2025 that will extend beyond factories to assist in homes.<\/p>\n<p>The androids are positioned as companions and are intended to care for the elderly, among other tasks.<\/p>\n<p>UBTech&#8217;s Brand Director Michael Tam emphasized that this is not a universal robot capable of performing a multitude of tasks. According to him, such an assistant is still many years away, as the technology is not yet ready.<\/p>\n<p>UBTech previously focused on industrial clients. Now, it is targeting the consumer market alongside Tesla and other firms.<\/p>\n<p>Back in March, UBTech Robotics <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/china-unveils-41200-humanoid-robot\">introduced<\/a> a humanoid robot priced at 299,000 yuan ($41,200).<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, production of Tesla&#8217;s Optimus robots <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/trumps-trade-war-impacts-optimus-production\">was disrupted<\/a> due to export restrictions on rare earth metals imposed by Beijing amid escalating trade tensions with Washington.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On May 25, the Chinese city of Hangzhou hosted the first Muay Thai-style combat tournament among G1 humanoid robots from Unitree Robotics.
