The process may end early (at least after two days) if the outcome is mathematically predetermined.<\/p>\n<p>At the time of writing, 56 out of 114 validators have voted. Of these, only two opposed the initiative, while 54 (55.4%) approved it.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/1-1583.webp\" alt=\"1-1583\" class=\"wp-image-259499\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Data:<a href=\"https:\/\/sui.scan.space\/vote\"> Sui Explorer<\/a>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Sui holders can delegate staked coins to validators who reflect their preferences.<\/p>\n<p>The participation of the Sui Foundation<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SuiNetwork\/status\/1926053323410493929\"> is not provided<\/a> to maintain &#8220;neutrality.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>On May 22, an attacker<a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/hackers-drain-11m-from-cetus-pool-on-sui\"> exploited<\/a> a vulnerability in the liquidity pool smart contracts of the decentralized exchange. Some of the stolen assets were converted into USDC and then into Ethereum.<\/p>\n<p>Sui validators blocked transactions from wallets associated with the hack. The platform team stated that $162 million of the compromised funds are temporarily frozen to protect the ecosystem, and the vulnerability has been fixed.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>&#8220;If the proposal is approved, the assets will be moved to a trust multisig account [controlled by Cetus, Sui Foundation, and OtterSec] until they can be returned to the DEX clients&#8217; wallets,&#8221;<\/em> the statement reads.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The vote is part of a broader recovery plan, which includes using Cetus treasury funds and<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SuiNetwork\/status\/1927439620091834569\"> an emergency loan from the Sui Foundation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">? Previously, Cyber Capital founder Justin Bons noted that the transaction block<a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/cetus-offers-hacker-6-million-for-return-of-20920-eth\"> confirms the network&#8217;s centralization<\/a>: 114 validators are controlled by the founders, who own the majority of SUI tokens. Other users praised the project for its swift response.<\/p>\n<p>Regardless of the vote&#8217;s outcome, Cetus stated that the recovery process will begin immediately. The protocol plans to present a detailed plan outlining further steps for affected clients.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the decentralized exchange team offered the hacker $6 million for the return of 20,920 ETH.
