This occurred after it became the first publicly listed company in Hong Kong to invest in Solana.<\/p>\n<p>MemeStrategy acquired 2,440 SOL for approximately 2.9 million Hong Kong dollars ($368,820). The transaction was conducted through the licensed platform OSL Group. The average purchase price was $151.70.<\/p>\n<p>Representatives of MemeStrategy <a href=\"https:\/\/memestrategy.com.hk\/newsroom\/press-releases\/memestrategy-(2440-hk)-strategically-acquires-2-440-solana-units-becoming-the-first-hong-kong-listed-company-to-invest-in-the-solana-ecosystem\">stated<\/a> that they see potential in Solana for tokenizing &#8220;real-world&#8221; assets and Web3 solutions based on artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n<p>The firm plans to support the ecosystem long-term, particularly by participating in Solana staking to contribute to network security and earn rewards.<\/p>\n<p>MemeStrategy is managed by the team behind the meme platform 9GAG, which has an audience of over 200 million users.<\/p>\n<p>Back in April, Matthew Sigel from VanEck <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/expert-labels-xrp-and-sol-crypto-treasuries-as-scams\">suggested<\/a> that by announcing the formation of crypto reserves worth hundreds of millions of dollars, smaller public companies are likely attempting to fraudulently pump up their stock prices.<\/p>\n<p>Analysts at Coinbase Institutional <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/corporate-bitcoin-treasuries-pose-systemic-risks-to-crypto-markets\">identified the growing popularity of corporate reserves, particularly in Bitcoin, as a systemic risk<\/a> to the digital asset market.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Strategy has made another significant acquisition of digital gold, purchasing 10,100 BTC for approximately $1.05 billion.
