This decision follows a wave of criticism from the community.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Pausing DAO Voting to Focus on Jupiter &#038; Jupiverse<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JupiterExchange?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@JupiterExchange<\/a> stands at the edge of an inflection point. They claimed that developers use large JUP token holdings to influence voting outcomes.<\/p>\n<p>On June 6, a community representative known as BuddyChaddi pointed to a wallet belonging to a Jupiter team member, from which over 24 million JUP were used to vote on a recent proposal.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cI\u2019m not against the team having their share. The problem is that it\u2019s too large to influence the DAO,\u201d<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/discuss.jup.ag\/t\/flawed-governance\/38575\"><em>wrote<\/em><\/a><em> on the governance forum.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Another participant, Thisisfun, supported this view. He <a href=\"https:\/\/discuss.jup.ag\/t\/why-can-team-members-participate-the-vote\/38641\/4\">noted<\/a> that team members themselves create governance proposals and have the ability to ensure desired outcomes.<\/p>\n<p>A project co-founder known as weremeow <a href=\"https:\/\/discuss.jup.ag\/t\/flawed-governance\/38575\">confirmed<\/a> that locked team tokens can be used for voting.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that he and another co-founder, Siong Ong, will refrain from participating in governance in the future. However, a third co-founder will continue to vote but will cease receiving staking rewards.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">DAO Operations on Hold<\/h2>\n<p>The decision was explained as necessary to focus on the project&#8217;s growth. According to Dhanda, the current governance structure is not functioning as intended. He stated that the DAO is \u201cstuck in a negative feedback loop,\u201d which slows decision-making and creates community discord.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cThe window to define the future of DeFi is open, but it won\u2019t stay open for long. We must be laser-focused on growth,\u201d<\/em> noted Dhanda.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The suspension of voting will allow the team to focus on speed and development while rethinking the DAO&#8217;s operational principles. Dhanda promised that governance will return in 2026 \u201cwith a new approach that unites rather than divides.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He clarified that the pause will not affect staking rewards, and all previously funded working groups will continue their activities. The acceptance of new proposals is halted, and the community reserve will remain untouched until voting resumes.
