Today marks a significant milestone on our path to commercialization: we successfully completed a series of piloted, full-transition, electric vertical-takeoff-and-landing flights in Dubai.<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/hhcCX7w8da\">https:\/\/t.co\/hhcCX7w8da<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/efq6bz1jfK\">pic.twitter.com\/efq6bz1jfK<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Joby Aviation (@jobyaviation) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jobyaviation\/status\/1939656856345125115?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 30, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The company develops electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cOur flights and operational presence in Dubai are a monumental step towards integrating air taxi services into everyday life worldwide,\u201d said founder and CEO JoeBen Bevirt in a statement.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>He described the UAE as a \u201claunchpad for a global mobility revolution.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Joby Aviation <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jobyaviation.com\/news\/joby-to-launch-air-taxi-service-uae\/\">announced<\/a> plans to launch the service in the UAE in February 2024 as part of an agreement with Dubai&#8217;s Roads and Transport Authority. The company was granted exclusive rights to provide air taxi services in the emirate for six years.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In November, the firm began constructing a vertiport\u2014an eVTOL takeoff and landing site\u2014at Dubai International Airport. Plans include expansion to three new locations: Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Downtown, and Marina.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In 2024, Joby Aviation signed an agreement to launch air taxis with three government departments in Abu Dhabi.<\/p>\n<p>The company&#8217;s shares have risen by more than 32% since the beginning of the year, boosting its market capitalization above $9 billion.
