We did not partner with Robinhood, were not involved in this, and do not endorse it. Any transfer of a stake in OpenAI requires our approval\u2014we did not approve any transfer,\u201d the statement reads.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Robinhood <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RobinhoodComms\/status\/1940516010466914313\">explained<\/a> that the new product provides retail investors with \u201cindirect access to private markets\u201d and is realized through the online broker&#8217;s stake in a <span data-descr=\"Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) \u2014 a legal entity created for a specific purpose, usually to isolate risks or simplify financial operations\" class=\"old_tooltip\">special purpose vehicle<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Equity and startup expert Amit Kukreja noted that OpenAI issued the announcement \u201cas a precaution\u201d\u2014they were obliged to do so.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">for anyone freaking about this, it\u2019s not a big deal<\/p>\n<p>OpenAI is putting out this statement to be safe because they have to<\/p>\n<p>but all robinhood did was establish a token that tracks the valuation of openai on the private markets<\/p>\n<p>similar to the tokens for all the other 200 public\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 amit (@amitisinvesting) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/amitisinvesting\/status\/1940513398091141181?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 2, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cAll Robinhood did was issue a token that tracks OpenAI&#8217;s valuation on private markets. It\u2019s the same as the tokens for the other 200 public companies they offer. You\u2019re not literally buying their shares\u2014the certificates themselves are just that, certificates. What matters is the digital representation of these assets. In the future, thousands of decentralized exchanges will allow you to buy OpenAI, whether it\u2019s private or public. There will be high liquidity, the spread between buy and sell prices will narrow, and people will be able to trade this globally. Robinhood is just one of the first companies to take this step,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>At the end of June, Robinhood announced the development of its own blockchain network based on Arbitrum and the launch of trading tokenized shares.<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/telegram.org\/js\/telegram-widget.js?22\" data-telegram-post=\"forklog\/44591\" data-width=\"100%\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The company <a href=\"https:\/\/arbiscan.io\/address\/0x44c7c4ab4757aa49b50a8082cb1649c51ef7bc43#asset-tokens\">issued<\/a> on the L2 network tokens for OpenAI, Robinhood Markets, Trump Media &#038; Technology Group, Schwab U.S. Dividend Equity ETF, and YieldMax MSTR Option Income Strategy.<\/p>\n<p>Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/vladtenev\/status\/1940547859532612028\">confirmed<\/a> that technically the offered tokens are not \u201cequity,\u201d but they effectively provide retail investors access to private assets.
