This was <a href=\"https:\/\/kremlin.ru\/events\/president\/news\/77410\">announced<\/a> by the head of the agency, Yuri Chikhanchin, during a meeting with Vladimir Putin.<\/p>\n<p>According to the official, such crimes are typically committed through affiliated individuals.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cWe have developed a methodology, identified the so-called decision-making points where the distribution of funds occurs, and oriented commercial banks towards a model of the corrupt individual. They are now reporting information about such transactions to us,\u201d Chikhanchin explained.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>He noted an increase in the use of cryptocurrencies in corruption-related transactions.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cIn total, we are actively involved in around 400 corruption cases. The amount of damage we have identified is about 13.5 billion rubles, of which approximately 5 billion has already been returned to the state,\u201d the official stated.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>As part of anti-corruption efforts, Rosfinmonitoring, together with VTB and the Central Bank, is enhancing the \u201cTransparent Blockchain\u201d solution, which tracks cryptocurrency transactions.<\/p>\n<p>In January, court bailiffs began <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/russia-to-seize-record-bitcoin-bribe-of-1bn-rubles-for-state-coffers\">confiscating 1032.1 BTC<\/a> for the state, seized from convicted former investigator Marat Tambiev in a record bribery case.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rosfinmonitoring, in collaboration with the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, has developed a methodology to enable commercial banks to identify corruption schemes involving cryptocurrencies.
