Prior to the event, the TRON founder stated he owned nearly $19 million worth of the meme coin\u2014more than anyone else, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/05\/20\/justin-sun-trump-dinner.html\">according to CNBC<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Strengthening the TRON and TRUMP Connection<\/h2>\n<p>The mutual support between the projects developed gradually. In November 2024, weeks after Trump&#8217;s election, Sun <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/justin-sun-becomes-leading-investor-in-world-liberty-financial\">announced an investment<\/a> of $30 million in World Liberty Financial (WLF).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>After being appointed as an advisor to WLF, the TRON founder increased his investment in the WLFI token to $75 million. In January 2025, World Liberty Financial added $4.7 million worth of TRON to its investment portfolio, according to an <a href=\"https:\/\/intel.arkm.com\/explorer\/entity\/worldlibertyfi\">Arkham report<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In 2023, the SEC charged Sun and three of his companies, including TRON Foundation Limited, with unregistered securities offerings in the form of TRON (TRX) and BitTorrent (BTT) tokens.<\/p>\n<p>In February, Sun and the SEC <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.ph\/o\/Ba7fp\/https:\/\/storage.courtlistener.com\/recap\/gov.uscourts.nysd.596044\/gov.uscourts.nysd.596044.82.0.pdf\">filed<\/a> a motion in court to pause proceedings to explore settlement options.
