The OP_CHECKZKP initiative aims to transform the blockchain from a payment system into a platform for DeFi, gaming, and other on-chain applications.<\/p>\n<p>The DogeOS team is also behind the MyDoge wallet, which boasts over 500,000 users.<\/p>\n<p>The upgrade will allow computations to be verified off-chain without revealing confidential data. According to the press release, the initiative will pave the way for creating credit markets backed by DOGE, decentralized exchanges, and verifiable multiplayer games.<\/p>\n<p>Technically, the proposal introduces a new opcode, OP_CHECKZKP, supporting Groth16 and PLONK proof systems. The upgrade is planned as a soft fork, ensuring backward compatibility without the need for a new virtual machine.<\/p>\n<p>ZK-Rollups technology will enable processing thousands of transactions per second off-chain and confirming them on the main blockchain using &#8220;compact&#8221; cryptographic proofs.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>&#8220;Dogecoin already has one of the most dedicated communities. The upgrade will give them tools for more \u2014 turning the beloved currency into a platform capable of competing with any other network,&#8221; stated DogeOS CEO Jordan Jefferson.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The DogeOS team is also developing an EVM-compatible <span data-descr=\"a virtual machine that generates zero-knowledge proofs to verify the correctness of computations without revealing the executable code or input data\" class=\"old_tooltip\">zkVM<\/span>, which will use Dogecoin for settlements. The OP_CHECKZKP upgrade will make these settlements secure and verifiable.
